Americans know that spending is out of control. With a deficit of over thirteen trillion dollars, the American people have told Washington “stop spending money we don’t have.” It is time for Congress to cut spending across the board, with the exception of three areas, the Department of Defense, Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security.
If we don’t act now, we all know that our children and grandchildren will be left to figure out a way to deal with an unsustainable debt. The future of our nation is at stake. I have launched a Petition to rally 10,000 citizens who agree that spending must be cut now. We all know that we must have across the board cuts, rather than line item budget cuts. I am proposing an across the board cut to all spending. I need your support to pressure Speaker Pelosi to move my proposal to the floor.
As soon as we reach our goal of 10,000 signatures, I will present a Discharge Petition to Speaker Pelosi and ask her to move my proposal forward.
As a concerned American citizen, I strongly support an across the board spending cut. I oppose more deficit spending. I know that we can’t sustain the current spree of reckless spending, and our children and grandchildren should not be forced to deal with an issue that we can solve now.
